Dress Code
We are committed to providing excellence to our families & students with a professional dance training experience, and teaching our students to show respect for dance class etiquette, their instructor, and the art form they are learning. One of the ways we uphold these commitments is through our Dress Code.
Why is Dress Code Important?
Safety: Proper dress code allows the instructor to see that the students are using the correct muscles & proper alignment when executing movements.
Respect: Dress code is one of the ways that students show respect to their instructor and peers. It demonstrates an understanding of dance class etiquette, and ensures that students have minimal distractions in class. It shows that students are prepared to learn.
Improves Confidence: When students look like dancers, they feel like dancers and it shows in their confidence, attitude, and performance. In the right clothing, dancers feel more willing and confident to attempt new steps and skills. Dress code ensures that dancers don’t feel left out around their peers, since all the dancers in the class are following the same dress code.
Increases Focus: Following a dress code puts dancers in the right mindset to learn and focus. This is especially true for younger dancers who may be newer to dance. Wearing proper attire signals they are ready for a structured dance class, rather than wild playtime. A dress code puts them in the right mindset.
All Levels
1) All dancers should have their hair pulled back for all classes. Ballet classes Mini through Senior level require a traditional ballet bun.
2) NO jewelry other than post earrings.
3) NO dress-up clothes, costume tutus, or gymnastics leotards.
4) NO gum.
5) Proper dance shoes must be worn at all times.
Brand new students are expected to have all of their dress code items by their 2nd week of class. We sell dancewear & shoes at the studio.
